The Nation Has Scarlett Fever For Now

Thanks you Rutger Scarlett Knights!

You just proved how overrated Louisville was. You just showed that your football team should get some respect. Not enough for a national championship but still in the hunt for a BCS bowl.

I think 110 year old Rutger fan Walter Seward said it best leading up to the game, "Louisville? Never heard of them." (cool story by the way. Just see the timeline of what has happened since he's been alive.)

I had a feeling Louisville was in for a major let down after last week's win over WVU. Like I said last week, I was still not impressed with Louisville. Tonight just cemented it. A championship team does not have a 25-7 lead and lose 28-25. They do not go scoreless in the second half. They do not punt on their last seven possessions. They do not lose to the Knights.

Now the BCS is in a clusterfuck. Who is going to be the best one loss team in the nation to play for the national championship game? My biased pick is Florida but I do not like the way we have been playing of late. I hope Urban Meyer has a shotgun shoved up their ass and threatening to shoot if they do not get that offense going.

If Florida wins out, I think that should give them enough quality wins to meet the OSU/UMich winner.

Texas? They already got beat pretty bad by Ohio State already. They have won but a look at their opponents does not show too many quality wins. They should have lost to Nebraska if it were not for a fumble. Plus I would not want to see a Texas/OSU rematch.

USC? Please amigo. Too many close wins, bad defense, and they will drop another game before the season is done.

Auburn? Loss to a pretty good Arkansas team, as we see now. However, to be a considered a contender I say you cannot get your ass handed to you at home. A win against Florida in the SEC championship game adds them to the argument.

Notre Dame? See Louisville. A team with no defense is not going to survive without losing again.Won too many close games from behind. Same opinion on losing terribly at home (Michigan).Give Charlie Weiss a cheeseburger to please him.

Cal? They have not lost since week one but a loss on the road to USC is likely. But a win still shows they do not have enough great wins to surpass any of the teams above.

Rutgers? As great as their win was tonight, they lose to WVU in the last game of the season. If they win out? Beating up on the Big East is not going to be enough. If they were saying an undefeated Louisville still had a chance to be left out, why not Rutgers?

Why not Rutgers?
