The first I saw of it

Damn that’s the first I saw of it. I kept hearing he flipped the bat so, like you said, I was thinking more of a post-homerun toss. I’d like to know whether he was looking at the ump when he tossed it or just kind of threw it in his direction and got lucky (or unlucky).
