If there's one thing we learned in this 2006 tournament it's that big leads are never safe. How many times have we seen a team up by double digits to only lose in the end? The cold shooting by UNC in the last 8 mins or so in regulation was uglier than staring straight up someone's hair asshole. Missing 19 out of 20 shots and nearly getting shutout in overtime.
I was rooting for a shutout. I had the surround sound speakers and it got really tiring to hear the sound of the rim after each UNC miss. Their first point was a measly free throw and then they got a meaningless two pointer after Georgetown was leading by double digits. You think Duke fans were loving every second of it?
People hate the Gators I know but they still haven't lost. They're not ready to give up defending their national championship. We get a very intriguing matchup with UCLA, who lost to the Gators almost this time last year in the national championship game. There are some who want to see the Gators lose. Then there are others that echo NBA's Grant Hill who are rooting for the Gators because the core group of guys came back instead of bolting to the NBA for millions and a season of playing on really bad teams. They're two games away from making their comeback much more worth it. Isn't it good once in awhile to root for the kids who actually stay in college and help make it exciting and prove how much better it is than watching the NBA?
Gators vs Bruins. Buckeyes vs. Hoyas. Final Four. I can't freaking wait. Is it Saturday already?
