... Beckett, however unwittingly, stirred a quiet Toronto offense to wakefulness. But it’s not his fault we lost. Tito should have put Papelbon in for a five-out save. It would have saved us from a 12 inning game, thus lessening the strain on Tek’s “tender buttocks,” and Papelbon would have only had to pitch an inning and two thirds instead of two innings and a third. (From BDD)Consequently, it would have been another day or two before he pitched those 10 scoreless innings and he lost … er, won … that bet. And maybe that would’ve been enough time for him to reconsider that awful haircut.
