The Sign that the Apocalypse is Upon Us

I'm not sure whether to classify this as a savvy business idea or as the most idiotic thing sold on Ebay from a football game.

A Seattle Seahawk fan is selling a hot dog from the NFC championship game. It's an uneaten dog sealed and frozen from the game. Before you think that's silly, wait to you hear the price of the auction. Currently it's at $10,069.69. My finger didn't slip. It's for a damn hot dog that's made from mixed animal parts!! It's not like an image of the Virgin Mary is seen in the meat. If anything look really closely and you'll see....a hot dog.

The seller said he got the idea from an idiot who was selling "air" from the Seahawks-Redskins game. So him and some buddies brainstormed and came up with a hot dog. I'm sure people are pissed as heck they wish they had thought of that earlier. Freakin brilliant idea though.

Ebay has been a thriving environment for items from the weird. Naming a baby. Check. Selling air. Selling a fan's allegiance. Check, check. Selling a grilled cheese with the Virgin Mary on it. Check. Add a $5 hot dog to that list.

Sadly, we'll see copycat items coming from the Super Bowl. "Bid on a 9 piece order of chicken wings! Threw the other piece at a Seahawks fan".

$10,000+ for a hot dog folks. Next time you gripe about paying that much for food, just think of the Ebay opportunity. I must be hungry too because earlier I posted about a 100 meat patty hamburger.

(Update: The hotdog sold for $1,800. After many bidders backed out Golden Palace Casino was the final bidder. You might know them as the casino who bought the Virgin Mary grilled cheese.)
