The NFL's Most Impressive Stadiums

There’s just nowhere else like it!

NFL - America’s most loved sports league. Millions of people each weekend tune in to watch the world’s most exciting and hard-hitting football league, and not just in the United States, but across the entire globe. While the majority are only able to watch on TV, some of the lucky fans get to watch the games directly in the stadiums. Not only is it an incredible experience to watch the NFL, just visiting these stadiums alone is an experience in itself.

When it comes to stadiums, the United States is unmatched. The size, the architecture, and just the number of high-quality stadiums here are enough to put them at the top. From high school stadiums that non-Americans could only dream of, to college football stadiums that would impress many of Europe’s biggest soccer clubs. The gold standard of sports stadiums though all rests in the NFL, but out of all of them which are the most impressive?

Before reviewing the NFL’s top stadiums, here’s a recap of last season. Tom Brady in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led them to Superbowl victory with the help of his right-hand man Rob Gronkowski. Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t do enough to stop the now 7-time champ and clinch a back-to-back Super Bowl victory. The final showdown between the G.O.A.T of the NFL versus one of the biggest young QB talents in the sport is a great representation of the season. The MVP was none other than the legend of Green Bay that is Aaron Rodgers, but we also saw L.A. Chargers QB Justin Herbert pick up Rookie of the Season. The future is bright, but the veterans are still showing they’ve still got it! This next season has a lot to live up to after an action-packed year that saw the most points scored in NFL history. Debates have already begun on who will lift the Vince Lombardi trophy at the end of the upcoming season, many betting on the NFL are predicting a similar outcome to last year with the Chiefs favorites in sports betting online, closely followed by the Buccaneers, Packers, and Bills.

The top 5 most impressive NFL stadiums

Lambeau Field - Green Bay Packers.

Kicking the list off with one of the old school stadiums that has a reputation for being one of the must-visits in all of sport - Lambeau Field. While this may not be as impressive as others in terms of modern design and fancy features, the lure of this stadium is the atmosphere. The bowl shape fits an almighty 81,441 passionate cheeseheads, regardless of the harsh weather, that creates an atmosphere that most sports teams can only dream of. Its design pays homage to its history and to the city of Green Bay, especially with the incredible museum inside the stadium. This is perhaps the most impressive stadium in terms of fan experience and is the reason why it is often the number one destination on an NFL fan's bucket list.

SoFi Stadium - Los Angeles Rams/Los Angeles Chargers

Recently opened last season, the SoFi Stadium is one of the most impressive stadiums, not just because of its 70,240 capacity, but mostly because of its unique design and high-tech features. Most notably the Oculus, which is the largest video scoreboard in sports. This 360 degrees, double-sided 4K video board is a representation of this innovative stadium as a whole. This is likely to be a Super Bowl stadium in the near future, as well as a top venue for the entertainment industry as a whole.

U.S. Bank Stadium - Minnesota Vikings

Back in 2010 at the old Superdome stadium, the Vikings had a huge dilemma to deal with. The city is prone to huge snowstorms and on one cold night, a pile-up of snow caused the roof to collapse. A new stadium was needed, and along came the U.S. Bank Stadium. The design is like something from another galaxy, for real! The spaceship-looking design that has a lot of glass features is one of the most visually remarkable stadiums in the world.

Lumen Field (Previously Named Centurylink Field) - Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are notorious for their fan experience. They have beaten the record for noise levels on several occasions and this atmosphere is what brings in fans from all around the world. The stadium’s design needed to be able to cope with these noisy fans, but in fact, the architects went beyond that to find ways of enhancing the sound. This is a great stadium that despite the Seattle rain, is a beautiful picturesque venue that also shows the iconic Seattle skyline through one end of the stadium.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium - Atlanta Falcons

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta presents some incredible architecture that is extremely modern and unique. The stadium seats around 71,000 people and when the roof is closed, the noise levels are contained and are able to reach spectacular heights! This is a stadium that is not only used advantageously by the Falcons in the NFL but also their soccer team Atlanta United in the MLS.

The gold-standard

The NFL is packed with world-class stadiums and it’s hard to rank all of them without debate. Other notable stadiums include the enormous MetLife Stadium, home to the Giants and Jets, as well as Dallas’ AT&T Stadium and the new Allegiant Stadium of the Las Vegas Raiders. From the pure size of the stadiums to the unique designs, there is no other sports league on the planet that can compete with the NFL. When we look to future events outside of the NFL, they are considered as the top venues for concerts and will host the World Cup in 2026. It’s clear, the NFL has set the gold standard for sporting stadiums worldwide.
