Which current NBA player applied for a job at Circuit City his rookie season in Chicago just so he could get a discount on electronics?
If you knew it was Ron Artest then good job on remembering one of the strangest things I've learned today.
The same Ron Artest is shocked and upset that he was not invited to play for the U.S Olympic basketball.
"I'm kind of upset about that," he said. "Me, being one of the better players in America, separate from the NBA, I want to play for the United States team in the Olympics. I'm an American. I might not be a class act, but I'm an American."
I can hear Ron now quoting Chevy Chase from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, "If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now." (love that line)
You know Ron we're certainly not shocked. If your memory is a bit fuzzy Ron we'll run down some of your credentials. Maybe the U.S. Olympic committee overlooked them.
But it's shocking the U.S. Olympic committee didn't overlook those attributes and put you on the team. You are a great player when you want to be. But if you start a fight during the Olympics, it just might start WWIII. We don't need that because we've already spent $2 trillion on the war in Iraq. So more time for you to start on that new album.
