Teams That Can Finish With the Best Record in the NBA

There is a lot of parity during the NBA throughout the 2022-2023 NBA regular season. The NBA trade deadline and the NBA All-Star festivities in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be happening during the month of February. Several teams have a shot to finish with the best record in the NBA during the regular season.

It appears as if no one is going to finish with 60 wins this season, but teams can finish in the high 50s this year. The Phoenix Suns had the most wins in the NBA during the regular season a season ago at 64-18. NBA picks today have the Boston Celtics as currently one of the favorites to win it all this season and maybe also have the best record in the NBA. Who are some of the candidates to do so?

Boston Celtics

At the current moment, Boston has a 26-12 record, and it is currently the best record in the NBA. A season ago, the Celtics were the number two seed in the Eastern Conference. They were NBA finalists before losing to the Golden State Warriors in six games. The Celtics are back here in this position because Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum might be the best duo in the NBA.

They are very efficient offensively because they move well with the basketball and without the basketball. Joe Mazzulla, as their head coach, has a different style of play with this team compared to when Ime Udoka was their head coach a season ago. The Boston Celtics won’t win 60 games this season, but they will somewhere between 55-58 and possibly be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.

Boston will go into the playoffs as one of the betting favorites to win it all this year. The Eastern Conference is very top-heavy.

Brooklyn Nets

All of a sudden, the Brooklyn Nets have been on fire and have climbed their way back into the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Brooklyn is currently 25-13 record-wise so far this season, and all of a sudden, they are NBA Finals contenders once again. The Nets have a shot to be the one seed in the Eastern Conference, and they aren’t far behind the Boston Celtics.

One of the reasons why this is the case is because Jacque Vaughn became the full-time head coach after they let go of Steve Nash. A lot of fans thought this team was unfixable, with Kyrie Irving being a headcase and with Kevin Durant calling the shots, but it appears all of that has calmed down for the current moment. They are playing much better defensively and are more efficient offensively.

Ben Simmons is one of the best defensive players on this basketball team and can guard the wing. Brooklyn finishing with the top record in the NBA this season would be an amazing accomplishment after questioning them earlier in the season about even making the playoffs to begin with by winning 50 or more games this season.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets had the sixth-best record in the Western Conference a season ago, and Denver is currently tied for the number one seed currently in the West with a 24-13 record so far this season. The other team they are tied with is the Memphis Grizzlies. A lot of it has to do with center Nikola Jokic potentially being on track for his third consecutive NBA MVP Award. Having Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. back helping him also helps this season.

Mike Malone is the head coach of this basketball team. The Western Conference isn’t as strong as in years past, and the Denver Nuggets recently beat the Boston Celtics 123-111 on New Year’s Day. The question will be, can Denver catch Boston or the Brooklyn Nets potentially for the best record in the NBA?

It doesn’t feel like it with the Western Conference parody this season, but hey, you never know. This team has the talent to do it, and winning over 50 games would be very solid for this basketball team.
