Quick Recap of T.O.'s Press Conference

The long awaited press conference. Here are the highlights...

-He apologized to the Dallas organization for being a distraction.

-He took some pain pills and started to feel groggy.

-He took some extra pills with his supplements but does not know how many extra. He had a bottle that was empty on the table and the rest of the pills were in a drawers. Hence his publicist thought he took all the pills.

-T.O. denies taking 35 pills.

-Took hydrocodone pain pills.

-He was groggy when police was questioning him. Says he does not remember much of last night. Does not remember when the police officer asking him if he harmed himself.

-His publicist, Kim, called 911 out of concern for his well being. She felt like the situation was more life threatening than T.O. claims it was.

- His stomach was not pumped. Definitely not true.

-He just finished catching balls with Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo. He said he is ready to play Sunday.

-Denies he is depressed. Said with a smile.

Then Kim Etheridge, his publicst and the person who dialed 911, came to the podium. She looked like she slept two hours and needed an Oprah makeover.

-Says that Owens was not coherent to speak. She called 911 because he didn't seem in his normal responsive state.

-Denies that she said he was depressed.

-Says he has 25 million reasons why he should be alive.

-Says she did not take any pills out of his mouth.

-Says that when she sees a man of his statue (I'm assume she meant stature) not feeling well, she uses her judgement to call 911.

-Keeps saying that all T.O. had was an allergic reaction to the pill.

Then T.O. comes back to the podium to speak once more.

He says thanks to the fire and rescue people. Police department. Thanks the medical staff. Family and friends.

It was difficult to hear him at times. I don't know if it was the microphone or the constant clicking of cameras. I do like that he didn't speak from a prepared statement. No sign of his sleazy agent, Drew Rosenhous. He answered the questions quickly and did not avoid any questions asked. He seemed very sincere about it all. Not annoyed and upset by the false reports.

So we have a situation, apparently, that started from strong reaction to pain killers, which I'm sure can make you pretty groggy. That's why it says don't operate any heavy machinery when taking some pain pills. While speaking he did not seem like a person who just tried to take his life. He seemed lively and normal.

This story will not go away. It's only the beginning.
