Pro Football Preview – Carolina Panthers(4-7) at Seattle Seahawks (7-3-1)

After an incredible 15-1 regular season and run to the Super Bowl in 2015, much was expected from the Carolina Panthers this season. Needless to say, disappointment rules the day as the team has been plague by injuries and inconsistent play all season long. They are closing in on elimination from the playoff picture. The Seahawks have ineffective on offense for much of the season, but good defense and the ability to capitalize on mistakes by its opponents has set them up as playoff contenders. The game is scheduled for Sunday, December 4 at 8:30 pm EST. For information about online sports free bets, please refer to https://www.bettingoffers.org/.

Current Line: Seattle -7.0 , O/U44.5

As a clear indication of its inconsistency on offense, Carolina has scored 20 or fewer points on 5 occasions and 30 or more points on 5 occasions. The leaves one game where they scored around the league average of 26 PPG. Both the team's offense and defense rank around the middle of the pack for league stats, which leaves one to wonder why they have had such difficulty winning games. It seems unfair to pin the blame on a single player, but QB Cam Newton has been abysmal this year after making it to the Pro Bowl last season and being voted league MVP. On the season, he has only completed 55.8% of his passes for 2,432 yards and 13 TDs against 8 interceptions. Even more telling is the mere 27.4 YPG rushing versus a career average of 40.0 YPG.

It's no secret where the source of Seattle's power comes from. Currently, the defense is ranked #1 in the league for scoring defense at 17.0 PPG and 7th for yards allowed per game at 335. This has more than compensated for a rushing offense that currently ranks #27 in the league at just under 89 YPG. Many of the team's issues relate to being unable to establish consistency with a backfield plagued by injuries. Only one of the teams top 4 running backs have played more than 9 games this year and that's QB Russell.

Online Sports Betting Game Analysis: For bettors, Carolina has been an albatross this year. They currently stand at 3-7-1 ATS with a record of 1-4 ATS on the road. It has taken the bookmakers a long time to be convinced this team just isn't playing good ball this year. The team's games have leaned slightly towards the over with a record of 6-5. It is worth noting the team stands at 4-1 O/U on the road. The Seahawks have been a rather unspectacular 5-5-1 ATS and 5-6 O/U without any notable trends at home or away. It's going to be really tough for the Seahawks to lay 7 points when they have failed to score more than 9 points on 3 different occasions this year. That's both inexplicable and inexcusable. Based on the fact Carolina has played a little better over the past four weeks, the number seems too high.
Prediction: Seattle 24 - Carolina 20
