Harder Question: Was it Smart or Not?

I like the topic, but the harder issue is whether you think it's a good example or a bad one. that's the harder question of course. certainly it was drastic, but was it the right thing to do? i'd argue no. i'd argue it was stupid, that Loria was recklessly drastic and as a result will lose fan support and lots of income for years to come.

A more measured approach could have kept the fans, the income, and still reduced costs some, so that at the end of the day, financially maybe he comes out about the same, but serves the fans and team and maybe MLB better.
