Gotta Love Day 1 of March Madness

While you crumble up your bracket and toss it already…

If the March Madness only gets better after day one, I might be a chain smoker by the end of the tournament. So damn exciting. In already the first day we've seen a bomb scare, a double OT game, George Washington to come from an 18 point deficit to win in OT, Adam Morrison score 35 points to help the Zags win, Syracuse sent home packing (overrated) and Tennessee make a miracle shot at the end of the game to win.

Basketball from almost noon today until past midnight today. More than 12 hours of basketball. And it's only day 1.

My bracket looks pretty bad already but it's not as bad as some of the schools and conferences in the tournament so far. Arguably the best conference, the Big East, is 0-3 so far. Seton Hall, Marquette and tournament champion Syracuse are all gone. Five seed Syracuse was actually a one point underdog by tip off against twelve seed A&M. Makes you think that Vegas knew something most fans didn't know. Five more Big East teams play today.

On the other hand the SEC is hot. Florida, LSU, Tennessee and upset minded Alabama all won.

We did get our usual #12 seed beating a #5 seed (2 wins for #12 seeds. 1 win for #5 seed.)

We almost got a major upset by Winthrop who I wish would have beaten Tennessee. Tennessee is an overrated #2 seed and will show it soon enough.

If you haven't tried it yet, watch the games on your computer. Right now I'm watching Washington vs Utah St. in surprisingly great video quality.

Gotta love March Madness.
