Get Used To See More Of This on Jan. 8

After another weekend of college football the BCS picture is a bit more clear. The top contenders all won while the bottom feeders Arkansas, Notre Dame and WVU all lost. What I am certain of is this. I do not want to see a Ohio State / Michigan rematch! Call me simple minded. Michigan had their chance to beat #1 and they lost. No way they should get another chance. How much whining would be coming out of Columbus if Michigan beats Ohio State? This is not boxing where they can have a third match. How can you debate a true champion? Maybe we'd have a split national champion. The AP voters can vote whoever they want as the national champion. It happened three years ago when the Trojans missed out on the BCS championship game, but won the AP's part of the national title by beating Michigan 28-14 in the Rose Bowl.

Looks like the Gators won't have enough to make it to the big game. If they had just beaten Auburn...damn. One stupid game they gave away. Instead they're an outsider with almost no hope of jumping USC or Michigan and Urban Meyer is defending the Gator lack of style points by just looking at the wins and losses. They've had a great season beating the big three rivals (Tenn, Georgia, and FSU). From what I've seen I would say USC is deserving if they win out.

I'd hate to see Nick Lachey and every other USC klingon get another chance to go to the national championship game. They have played a tough schedule. Nebraska and Arkansas are both in their conference championship game. Oregon, Cal, and Notre Dame were all ranked. They won those games pretty easily. I give them credit there.

Okay what if the Gators win big against Arkansas and UCLA does the unthinkable? Then it turns to how badly the Gators win. Will it be enough. Probably not.

What I'm hoping for whoever plays Ohio State will get their asses handed to them. That way there's one last undefeated team (I don't count Boise) and there's no more debate until everyone's face turns blue.
