Favorites for the Masters Tournament 2013
by Becky
The Masters is by far the most popular golf tournament of the year. Played in Augusta, Georgia at one of the most exclusive courses found in the world, Augusta National Golf Course, this event draws a huge crowd. It's an invitation only tournament with many of the world's top players showing up for both the regular tournament and the par three contest.
Top Favorites for 2013Tiger WoodsAlready winning two tournaments this year, it's no secret,
Tiger is back. Even when he wasn't at his best, he's been able to land at the top of the Masters Leader board. He's a heavy favorite to win this year and loves playing at Augusta. The course has always set up great for him and Woods is due for a major win.
Bubba WatsonAs hard as it is to win back-to-back Green Jackets, the defending champion always has to be considered as a favorite. Watson brings the right type of game for Augusta, as he proved last year. His personal life exploded after his big win last year with a new baby and many other changes. However, it's settled quite a bit recently and he's poised for a big win soon.
Rory McIlroyRory is a favorite in nearly every tournament he enters and even with a few stumbles early this year, he's ready for a possible win at the
Masters 2013. His game started to turn around in the third round at Doral and he looked like the Rory golf fans are used to in the final round. Look for McIlory to make a run at the title this year.
Two Potential Wild CardsSteve StrickerIf it wasn't for a quick putting lesson Stricker gave
Tiger at Doral, it might have been Stricker's win. Steve lightened his schedule this year and he's playing great golf. Out of the three events he's played, he finished as the runner up twice and in the top ten all three times. In addition, Stricker is one of the best putters on the PGA Tour, which will make a huge difference at the Masters.
Jason DayDay has played some very good golf at Augusta in the past and he's due to win something big. He may only have one career win on the PGA Tour, but he's finished second four times and third twice. It's only a matter of time before he breaks through and it could be at the Masters.
It's no surprise to find Tiger Woods at the top of most lists when it comes to Masters favorites. If he can walk, he's usually a favorite. However, there's quite a bit of talent in the field this year and it could easily be a title that goes to someone else.
