The St. Louis Cardinals are the champions of the United States. I still have a hard time hearing the term "World" Series champions. I believe Japan was the winner of the World Baseball Classic. The US disappointed but that just follows the recent trend of international play. The Cardinals are only champions of millionaires playing baseball against each other.

They deserve to be the champions. No question about it. The only controversy happened with Kenny Rogers and his stink palm. What will be remembered are the errors made by Tiger pitchers. With time, people will slowly forget how horrible Detriot was in this series. Nobody remembers who finishes second.

This series began with some wondering if St. Louis was the worst World Series team ever? They almost lost their chance just to make it to the post season. After leaping over San Diego they went seven games against the Mets. If they were the worst WS team ever, then what does that make the Tigers? It made it one of the most boring World Series ever. Congrats to the Cardinals but it was brutal to see Detroit trip, stumble, try to get back up, only to trip and stumble again.
