DNA Evidence Comes Back Negative

In an amazing turn of event from last week, DNA testing has come back and none of the DNA from the lacrosse team matches any found on the victim. So the biggest piece of evidence in the case shows that no sexual assault took place. I'm shocked.

So what does this all mean? It means the prosecution has a extremely tough time proving any wrong doing. DNA evidence was the key in this case. If there was an assault taken place, there would have been DNA inside and outside out the dancer. If you've seen any show on Court TV these days, you know they have hi-tech ways to gather and analyze evidence. A recent case in here in Jacksonville, FL convicted a man of murder of a front desk hotel worker. On the security camera, they noticed the man leaned his arms on the counter as he shot her. They were able extract DNA from that impression and link him to the crime.

DNA test has become so important in all cases. It has proven criminal cases when seemingly the case seemed unsolvable and it has freed wrongly accused people. No matter what story people come up with the evidence doesn't lie.

The District Attorney said he has further evidence to prove an assault took place. Unsure of what evidence he has. However without DNA evidence, it's going to turn into a case of he said she said. The victim's credibility has already been scrutinized. Reports are saying there is photo evidence that the dancer showed up injured and very impaired. So far no photos have been shown publicly.

Until further evidence is presented by the District Attorney it seems like a case of false accusations. Ones that cost a coach his job, players their safety, ended a season, created racial tension, and tarnished the image of Duke.

If in the end it turned out no sexual assault took place, the accuser should be punished to the fullest extent for the damage she did. Reminds me of the case of the woman who found a finger in her Wendy's chili. It was so outrageous that the franchise lost millions in business. Restaurants in that area had to layoff employees. It was shocking to hear. Turns out the finger was planted. She never bit into it as she claimed. She just wanted money.

I'm anxious to hear about what further evidence the DA says he has that proves an assault took place. Without DNA matching, it'll be hard to prove anything conclusive.
