2020 NBA Title Contenders

The 2019 off-season produced some of the most amazing and surprising moves we've seen in recent years. With all these moves, many contenders have emerged who have built an impressive roster and will hope to be the last team standing come June 2020.

Title Odds

The best place we can start if we want to predict a winner is probably with title odds from some of the best betting sites on the web.  According to Bet365, the top favorites are the LA teams, with odds of -333 for the Clippers and -400 for the Lakers.  Right behind them are the Bucks, with odds of -425.

A little less likely to win the title according to bookies are the Rockets and 76ers with an odd of -750. Due to the injury of Klay, the Warriors got odds of -1300, but those will probably increase significantly if he is able to recover from his injury sometime towards the end of the season. The defending champs – the Toronto Raptors have little to no chance of repeating, with odds of -3300, which is no surprise considering that they lost one of the best players in the league and their Finals MVP – Kawhi Leonard.

The LA Teams

When the Brow decided to team up with the kid from Akron, many thought that the battle for LA was over. But, NBA legend and Clippers GM Jerry West had different ideas. He managed to not only bring the reigning Finals MVP – the Klaw, but he also brought in MVP candidate Paul George, making the Clippers one of the top favorites along with the Lakers.

But they didn't stop there. Both teams managed to add or keep some other valuable pieces and along with the superstars, they are currently the two most feared teams, and rightfully so. The Lakers managed to add all star center Demarcus Cousins, who despite his injuries, can still be one of the best centers in the league. The biggest win for the Clippers was the fact that they managed to keep Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams, who will give them valuable minutes either starting or coming off the bench.

Battle for the East

Milwaukee didn't make any significant changes apart from signing Robin Lopez and Wesley Matthews, but they were the second best team in the East last season, and with Kawhi gone, they will probably take the throne, at least until KD is back. And even though the Sixers added Al Horford, we don't think they have enough depth to make a run for the Finals.

The only team that can possibly challenge the Bucks to make it out of the east are the Celtics, who can be a very dangerous team with all their scoring options. They will expect that Kemba will be a lot easier to play with than Irving, and hopefully, the young guys can finally prove their worth.

Although talented, without Durant, it will be very difficult for the Nets to do anything significant this upcoming season, but once he returns, expect the entire landscape of the NBA to change.

Rockets and Warriors

We give the Warriors and Rockets about the same chance of winning. There are simply too many question marks with them. Can Russ and Harden share the ball? Can Klay return to his former self? If these questions turn out positive, though, these two teams automatically become title contenders, and I would even go as far as putting them above the mighty Bucks.

he Warriors have built a championship DNA over the years, and they won a title with the same core they have now. Although the Rockets duo hasn't had much success in the playoffs, let's not forget that they are 2 former MVPs, and they did make the Finals back in 2012, though much has changed since then.
