The great thing about live TV is that you never know what you’ll see. Sometimes you do see things you wish you hadn’t seen though. As with the case of Visanthe Shiancoe, who as we know by now was just hanging out in the locker room after the Minnesota Viking’s game, when we saw “it” hanging. It was almost down to his knees.

At Darren Sharper’s party, the day after a reporter was talking to Shiancoe about FOX apologizing for the slip up. He was unaware of that. Only that so many people called him. Also he’s not embarassed by it, nor should he be. He’s just glad he didn’t get out of the pool, but even then he doesn’t need to worry.

He also didn’t know why so many people knew about the slip up. Doesn’t he know that when a big black man’s penis is showing on live television, it spreads fast on the internet? Does he know about the internet, blogs, and Youtube also? When told it’s all over the internet, he said..

WHAAAAAT? Are you serious?

That’s when he asked the reporter, who is female, “How’d it look?” Spoken by a proud man.

Details of Plaxico’s super smart night out are beginning to emerge. The coverup of the incident makes it really sound like it was chaotic trying to coverup the whole situation. First the club never called police and helped cleaned up. Then his group called around for 90 minutes trying to find a discreet place for him to treat the wound. Ended up at a hospital where he checked in as Harris Smith and said he was shot at Applebee’s. What a busy night.

That all sounds believable enough for the hospital to not even report it to the police. That looks really stupid now since that is illegal. Eventually the Giants called the police and the rest is history. What is ironic is that his attorney represented Sean Combs when he was busted with possession of an illegal firearm. We all know that Sean Combs was acquitted. But because of how easy it was for him to get acquitted, the gun laws in New York have changed since then. Clearly they have become harsher.

Also the incident pissed off Mayor Bloomberg who believes that “It would be an outrage if we don’t prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.”

Does Applebee’s have now a free promotion? Wear a Plaxico jersey and get a discount? Because this is some free publicity Plaxico is giving out. They shouldn’t be upset that Plaxico made it sound like Applebee’s is a place where you could get shot while eating your baby back ribs. They should say that the reason Plaxico was shot was cause he didn’t pay the bill. That’ll teach a lesson for those future customers who might be thinking about running out on the bill.

PLAX BID TO KEEP HIS SHOT IN THE DARK [New York Post]

Last time I checked the calendar, 2011 is a long time away. That’s two NBA champions. Two NBA MVP awards away. So I applaud Charles Barkely for telling Lebron James “to shut the hell up” for talking about free agency already. Then Lebron, who probably needed to rethink this answer, just called him “stupid”. If this was elementary school, we would be yelling “fight! fight! fight!”

It’s no question that the 2010-2011 NBA free agency period will be huge with big stars like Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Lebron James being free agent. And the embarrassing New York Knicks are clearing up salary cap to land Lebron James. We know he loves New York. We know New York is a bigger city than Cleveland. But does going to the Knicks make sense?

If his goal is to win championships like he said, the Knicks seem a long way away from doing that. It is attractive to play for Mike D’Antoni but with all the talent and success he had in Phoenix, he never won an NBA championship. Lebron can play in Portland and still be a big NBA star. He will still make more money off the court than he does on the court. Wherever he goes, he’ll still have immense popularity. But if winning is that important to him, finding a team that at least has a chance to be playing for the post season every season seems to make more sense.

Also the Knicks aren’t the only team freeing up cap space for that summer. So he could go to another team. But that’s still a long way away. It’s even stupid for him to make comments about that summer of free agency, which he has done.

A superstar still needs a sidekick. A Jordan needed a Pippen. Lebron needs…David Lee? Doesn’t scream championship. So the Knicks are still going to have to find another way to get points.

I know Knicks fans have nothing better to talk about then dreaming about Lebron going to the Knicks. And Lebron might think that’s the best place for him, but so much can happen between now and then. Just shut up.

The lineups are out for the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Laugh all you want but I am a fan of the show. There are some competitors that I find myself really rooting for. Plus the professional female dancers are smoking hot. However looking at this year’s list of contestants, you have your mix of washed up celebrities and athletes, who always seem to do well. But I noticed that Warren Sapp is a competitor this season. Out of ALL the athletes in all the sports out there, they find Warren Sapp??

Football players have done well in the past because not only can they dance (Jason Taylor, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith) but they’re also likeable. But likeable is not the first word that comes to my mind when I think of Sapp. I think dirty, loud, obnoxious, and just a shit head. Also the guys previously mentioned before you even saw them take a step, you had an idea they could probably dance. Sapp just seems like he has slow feet for dancing and a big belly doesn’t really help you stay light on your feet when you’re doing the quick step.

Maybe he’s trying to change his image. I can’t imagine why he and his agent signed him up for Dancing with the Stars. I can see him on Big Brother. That would be fun. Nonetheless, the season starts September 22nd. It will be fun to see his attempt at dancing. Maybe he’ll blow us all away. Um..yeah right. But I’m guessing he just might be the very first one to go.

I’m living in Taipei, Taiwan now. Been having a great time. Except that they did not broadcast the Super Bowl here in Februrary. I was pretty upset at the time. Missed arguably the best Super Bowl now. I’m over it now. The wound has closed. Got so excited by the start of the Beijing Olympics. I’m in the same time zone so I should be able to watch events live I thought. But now a new wound has opened up.

Days into the 2008 Beijing Olympics, I have watched a total of five minutes of it. Why? Because the TV station here in Taipei has decided to broadcast the most random and lamest events. For example…

USA Men’s basketball opening game vs. China. A game expected to seen my 1 billion people in China alone? Nope. Not live. Not on tape delay. Last night they had Brazil vs Australia Women’s basketball. Who in Taipei really cares?

The Men’s 4 x 100 freestyle relay. One of the greatest finishes in history. Nope. Instead I’ve seen archery on in the morning and at night. It’s on right now again.

Other events I’ve seen on TV. Taekwondo. Handball. Volleyball. Synchronized diving. Replays of the opening ceremonies. Utterly disappointing.

So I’ve tried to go online to find it. NBC has such control over Olympic coverage that highlights are not on Youtube. On their website, I was excited to see that I could watch highlights. But then quickly found out, it’s restricted to US viewers only. So even more frustration.

I’m doing all I can to try and find a way to watch the Games. Big events are still to come. Track and Field. More swimming. Men’s basketball. And I’m trying like crazy to find a way to watch them. So be glad if you’re able to watch the Olympics live or even on tape delay wherever you are. Because in Taipei, Taiwan, I get archery.

That makes me feel old cause I remember playing Madden 92 (above). It’s a cool progression to see how far the graphics have come. Also mentions the big new features from that year. Surely 20 years from now there will still be Madden. I cannot imagine how much it will improve. But 20 years ago I never thought games would look like this now.
