AOL’s Top 40 Sports Figures of 2006

by Benny on December 6, 2006

It’s almost the end of 2006 (where has the year gone?) and it is time to reflect back on the year in sports.

Jamie Mottram, over at that internet monster AOL, has took it upon himself to compile the “Top 40 Sports Figures of 2006″. He contacted about 50 bloggers, including myself and other friends of this blog, to send in their top ten list.

Here at the Sports Pulse after looking back, at the top of my list was Barry Bonds. He did more bad than good this year (anyone remember the home runs?) which instantly mean he is blog worthy. Add in the fact that I cannot stand the man and you get a lethal dose of blogging.

According to the 32 bloggers who responded with a list, Terrell Owens came out top. I cannot agree more with that. Anything that man does makes news. Didn’t he accidently overdose this past summer on Flintstone vitamins? I don’t remember hearing about it. The remaining names on the list are a who’s who’s of the good, bad, and wacky this year in sports.

Take the time to look at the whole list and read the commentary that accompanies each sports star.
