Paying for picks was always a stupid play in my mind because the only person winning is the guy selling them. One of my former colleagues had a "knack" to pick the right teams on the weekends, but he did more homework than me. Even he went cold once in a while. He would share his information freely, but I never used his advice because I don't bet on sports. Good thing too because I haven't gotten the NFL season right, yet. :-) Thanks for writing.
