These are some the fine men who will be representing USA in this week’s World Cup. Brian, showing off the new hot pants from the Wal-Mart collection, is the veteran goal scorer. Landon, seductively enjoying the water, is the youth soccer prodigy that has matured into the best player on the team. The third, Pablo, is a solid defensive midfielder who is expected to play a vital role off the bench no matter how comfortable he looks on it.
I have no idea when these pictures were ever a good idea. These were taken for the 2002 World Cup so they’ve heard all the jokes. No matter the embarassment these players endured, they all performed way above expectations four years ago.
If this excites you to watch some USA games now, then you probably aren’t watching for the soccer.
