I still can’t get enough of Lindsey Jacobellis and her stumble for the silver medal. I just like to see the dumbest move in the 2006 Winter Olympics over and over again. Call me sick if you want.

Luckily snowboard cross isn’t a team sport so she didn’t lose it for a whole team. She did this all herself. As much as she tries to put a “glass half full” mentality by saying she’s happy with the silver medal, that makes me like her even less. Just say you wanted to make the cover of SI instead of saying you were trying to stablize yourself in the air. She says she’s happy because she’s the first silver medalist in snowboard cross ever. Well she’ll be more remembered for how she got that silver medal. You’ve made your legacy as a textbook example for all future athletes to don’ t do anything stupid until you cross that finish line.

That is CLASSIC! Thanks for posting that video. Like you said, at least it wasn’t a team sport, where she lost it for everybody. And it’s not like these people are real athletes anyways. The most impressive thing about snowboarding olympians is that they manage to stay off the bong long enough to pass the drug test. (well, most of them anyway).

I jumped up cheering along with most of the rest of the World who would have been watching (well non American World) when she crashed. When the arrogance and egotistical, better than everyone else in the World attitude, fell flat on its arse. Maybe the USA will learn something from this although I dont think so. I hope at least that she has learnt from this and that is to be a better competitor and to be gracious and sportsman like in victory and defeat.

I’m sure that was the same emotion shared by many non-Americans. When the USA fails, other countries rejoice. It’s only natural.

She did act gracious in defeated and did do all interviews requested and did not avoid the media. Give her credit for that.

Unfortunately we do not see the interviews she gave afterwards….It was very pleasing to read your last sentence and good on her for doing so and I give her Ten out of Ten. Humility is such an outstanding value to have.

I think this website is ridiculous…its hard and sometimes impossible for many people to even stand up on a snowboard let alone get into the olympics. Lindsey has been training since she was 15 and regardless of her mistake, she has worked her ass off to get where she is. I guarantee majority of you would try and show off a little on national television with millions of people watching, at the age of 20, and having such a far lead. Put yourself in her position and rather than taking the time to make fun of her go do something productive with your own life…she has achieved more than many of you ever will at the age of 21

While it was a stupid mistake, how many of you have ever had that audience watching you at your peak? Come to a better question, how many of you can put snowboard bindings on your feet and pull off anything more complex than falling?
