GQ has complied their list of the ten most hated athletes. Most of the people you’ll know. One you may never heard of. Some you will agree with and others you’ll wonder why are they even on the list. But when you read the article you’ll learn why they are hated by some. You’ll learn something you never knew about them. You may not even like them that much after reading. Here is the list with one reason why they are hated.
10) Lleyton Hewitt – He’s even booed in his native Australia.
9) A.J. Pierzynski – He kneed his trainer in the balls.
Phil Mickelson – Other pros think his image is all phony.
7) Bonzi Wells – Acts like a virus on and off the court.
6) Michael Iaconelli – America’s biggest “basshole” (he’s a fisherman)
5) Kobe Bryant – Selfish. Broke up a potential dynasty. Did I mention selfish?
4) Curt Shilling – Very full of himself. Some Diamondbacks actually think he doctored that famous bloody sock.
3) Kurt Busch – Criticizes teammates. Acts like he’s above everyone else.
2) Barry Bonds -Have you heard many good things about Barry Bonds from teammates? Has the world’s biggest chip on his shoulder.

Kobe’s only #5? Does GQ know that he takes 79 shots a game and raped a woman? Eh, probably not.
Kobe does need to move up to #1. T.O. is T.O. but he never raped someone. How about Ray Lewis? That whole murder thing…
What’s truly amazing is that Sean Avery and Todd Bertuzzi didn’t make the cut. Those who made the list did so because they annoy their opponents, and frequently, their teammates. Avery makes a living annoying his opponents, and the NHL added a new interpretation to the unsportsmanlike conduct rule, thanks to him.
As for Bertuzzi, he attacked an opposing player from behind, ending that player’s career. Maybe he isn’t the most hated, but he is probably the most likely to go postal.
