Jeremy Shockey’s Mastercard Moment

by Benny on November 28, 2005

Jeremy Shockey gets the premature celebration award of the year. If you didn’t see the Giants vs Seahawks game I’ll get you up to date. Giants were attempting a 40 yard field goal on the final play of regulation to win the game. The kick went up and the field goal barely went wide left. The cameras caught Jeremy Shockey’s reaction as he thought the field goal was good. It’s priceless. Watch it over and over again. You won’t get tired of it. I’m still not. Let’s hear what you think about it!

That was awesome. The only thing that would have made it better was if he got doused with Gatorade as he was pointing.

NFL Adam November 28, 2005 at 11:13 am

Thank you. That is awesome.

Mike (The Armchair QB) November 28, 2005 at 12:25 pm

This was one of the best things I’ve witnessed all year. Bless you Jeremy.

Matt November 28, 2005 at 2:10 pm

Seeing this video brings a smile to my face. I can’t stand Shockey. I bet he’s blaming the kicker right now for making him look like an idiot on national television.

Benny November 28, 2005 at 11:45 pm

Thank you Jeremy Shockey for entertaining us on this day and in the future!

Hutch November 30, 2005 at 1:52 am

Makes me laugh harder and harder everytime I watch it!! Go Seahawks!

John November 30, 2005 at 2:42 am

Oh, THAT side of the goalpost? Do I still get
the game ball?

javi-javier November 30, 2005 at 4:32 am

What a numb-nut!! If his touchdown was voted to be a missed call by the nfl officials committee after the game, does that mean he will be discredited with the score?

Dawud November 30, 2005 at 6:35 am

Unreal. Talking about counting your chickens before they hatch. If you look at the video closer you will see in the background Shockey wasn’t the only one celebrating. Most of the side line was.

Did the kicker get fired yet? Perfect example of a day in the life of a NFL kicker.
One day your the ironman, and next day your a goat.

Craig November 30, 2005 at 7:37 am

Yea well he had to do something to take away the shame of the fact he was getting creamed by defensive players all day long!!

Relationship George November 30, 2005 at 8:28 am

This is in response to Matts article, you probably can’t stand Shockey b/c you were never good enough in sports to actually have a reason to celebrate. Don’t hate the player hate the game.

Lucky November 30, 2005 at 8:32 am

I’m a die-hard Cowboys fan and i cant believe feely missed 3 game winning field goals but made me happy and seeing this video will always make me laugh n laugh because i think everyone hates shockey but dumb giant fans…wonder who jay feelys agent is on the phone with right now.

Dal November 30, 2005 at 9:08 am

Beautiful, Shockey’s one of the biggest jerks in the NFL.

Jason November 30, 2005 at 9:11 am

I love this too. What a moron! And if I’m not mistaken, on yet another missed game-winning field goal attempt, didn’t Michael Strahan (or one of those big dumb animals) run onto the field in celebration too?

Jack November 30, 2005 at 10:25 am

classic , Miami grad right?

Benny November 30, 2005 at 11:32 am

Yep, University of Miami Grad

fleetmack November 30, 2005 at 11:43 am

thanks! been looking everywhere for this. go ‘hawks!!!

Michael Spivey November 30, 2005 at 11:52 am

That’s O.K. because he will do that and more when we rope the Cowboys this coming week…No one will want to face BIG BLUE come Playoff Time…Yeah I’m NY Faithful

Jay November 30, 2005 at 12:21 pm

Referred to as “The U” by alumni.

scott November 30, 2005 at 12:28 pm

yahoo we won wait the ball is supposed to go on the inside of the @#$% bars

Bill (of Atlanta) November 30, 2005 at 12:45 pm

Not a Giant fan but am a Falcons fan. Jay is just Jay, unreliable in the clutch. Don’t worry Jeremy we suffered through Jay’s crap kicking for some three years. He would miss up to 4 kicks in one game for Dan Reeves and see where Dan is today, not to mention all of the missed extra point kicks. I fill your pan Jeremy and the Giants.

Phil E. Fan November 30, 2005 at 12:54 pm

Love the Shockey clip. Like Heather Locklear, it will never get old.

Becky November 30, 2005 at 12:55 pm

Say what you will, but I love Shockey. Only Shockey is good enough to back up the things he says and does! Bet you wish you made just a fraction of what he does! Eat your heart out! Go Shockey! I’m one of his hometown fans who’s watched him since high school and am proud of his accomplishments!

brose November 30, 2005 at 1:02 pm

we all have known that Shockey is a tool. I lost all respect for him when he got that white trash tattoo of a bald eagle and the American flag. Don’t get me wrong I am an American first but that looks ridiculous. USA?????

Phace November 30, 2005 at 1:24 pm

I absolutely hate and abhore it.

yes, I am a Giant DIE HARD fan!

Joe Cool November 30, 2005 at 1:41 pm

What a boobhead . Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy .

Tex November 30, 2005 at 1:59 pm

Just another fine example of sportsmanship in the USA. Let’s get real here. If these guys had half an education, we wouldn’t see such stupid antics. Tell me again, why are these guys millionaires?

Beyond that, this was bad taste even if the kick was good. Thank God there are a few intelligent players still out there that give kids something to look up to.

plax November 30, 2005 at 2:25 pm

did any one see strahan celebrating the first kick of OT… he ran on the field and then he realized it was no good…

plax November 30, 2005 at 2:26 pm

btw all you shockey haters would love him if he was on your team.

Jay November 30, 2005 at 2:44 pm

The only thing more SHOCKing than his premature celebration is the size of that ridiculous tattoo. Looking good, Shockey!

JENNIFER November 30, 2005 at 3:00 pm

LOVED IT . THAT GUYS IS SUCH AN A-HOLE. MAKES ME LAUGH.

Elbow November 30, 2005 at 3:12 pm

What I like about this is the class that Tiki Barber shows when he puts on his helmet and walks away from the camera instead of making a fool of himself.

Jason (seattle) November 30, 2005 at 4:21 pm

Love it. Shockey’s such a jacka$$. I love th fact that he made of fool of himself and Feeley made a fool of the rest of the team.
Go Seahawks!!!!

Bryan A November 30, 2005 at 4:41 pm

Stop hating on Shockey. The tatoo is of the american flag and an eagle to show his patriotism. Let the guy express himself. He is the best TE in the league, and he has such nice Abs almost as nice as JA.

Big-D November 30, 2005 at 5:22 pm

Plax, you can have Shockey (and his antics) I will take Witten any day of the week and twice on sunday. Yeah I love the video!

Meghan November 30, 2005 at 7:55 pm

Funniest thing I saw in football all year. I am a Hawks fan (Representing Washington State!) and was hoping that we would win, there were so many bad calls in that game, but Shockey got his. We hurt ‘em!

Ryan S. November 30, 2005 at 9:39 pm

Beautiful. Nothing like watching a moron suffer from foot-in-mouth disease over and over and over…

Jeffrey Peckitt December 1, 2005 at 11:40 am

These are moments that are very special and that one will be a classic for years to come!

See if you can pull up the clip of Canada’s Grey Cup championship last Sunday when the rookie head coach of the BC Lions does his best “Richie Cunningham aww shucks” premature celebration near the end of the game…ripping off his microphone and bounding onto the field only to suddenly realize that Montreal still had one more down…and we only have 3 downs in Canadian football…they still win but the moment too is a classic!

Green Bastard

Eagles Suck December 1, 2005 at 1:49 pm

yes it was funny, and yes they did lose but where was Philly’s hotheaded loudmouth of a ball catcher? oh yeah that’s right on his couch and probably not watching the piss-poor team that he ruined for the season. Shockey is better than 90% of the always disapointing when it comes down to it Eagles. long live the Philadelphia title drought. you people are worse than Boston/New England, they at least stepped up and won something.

Garrett December 1, 2005 at 1:59 pm

As a Cowboys fan that was priceless! Thanks Jay for the early Christmas gift!

Rick December 3, 2005 at 11:45 am

Like that one guy said u would love shockey if he was on ur team and if u don’t remember he had a great game 10 catches 127 yds. 1 touchdown now i wouldn’t say he’s the best tight end in the leauge but he’s def. better than whitten i’d put shockey second behind antonio gates.

Douglas December 3, 2005 at 3:38 pm

WOW!!….that game @ SEA relly wreaks with corruption. With the league admitting being wrong and fining the SEA orginization for knowing the league was wrong amazes the true fans of football.Another point, the broadcast on FOX of NYG/SEA game had rather high Nielsen ratings when compared to the American Idols final.

TexCowboy December 7, 2005 at 5:32 pm

That just made me happy for today, that just shows you what kind of white trash he is……

P.S.

Chockey better than Witten??? thanks for another good laugh………

Ken Dorsey December 8, 2005 at 12:47 pm

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy

drew December 29, 2005 at 10:12 am

shockey also refuses to tackle people who intercept passes or recover fumbles. he’d rather argue with refs or clap.

i’m a giants fan and is painful, but he is damn good so i deal with it

Frank "Grimey" Grimes December 29, 2005 at 11:17 am

Almost as good as him just standing there complaining to the officials last week as a Redskin was returning an interception.
Great talent, dumb as a brick (like aaron brooks)

Anthony December 29, 2005 at 12:51 pm

Wow. That SUCKS!

Pats Fan December 29, 2005 at 2:04 pm

I’m a Patriots fan (yes I’m from Boston). I don’t know what Shockey did that makes people hate him. He is a great tight end and I like him for that. Having said that, I will never stop laughing at this and I hope Shockey is humble enough to do the same.

Craig December 29, 2005 at 2:49 pm

I swear I could hear him say, ” Ha, ha, hahaha.. you’re going to lll…… what?! c’mon! First ohio state and now this? i can not catch a break- i will be sleeping in my car if anyone needs me.”

Chris December 29, 2005 at 3:19 pm

I can’t stand Shockey, but did someone say Witten!?!? I wouldn’t even call him the 7th best TE. Way below Gonzalez, Crumpler, Heap, Cooley. If Eric Johnson didn’t end his season before it started I’d but him above Witten. Witten is better than Randy McMichael and that’s about it.
